I'm in a bit of a predicament right now.
I'm working 24 hours/week on a software concreting project right now and I've been looking to fill the remaining 16 hours with another paid project. As it turns out, this is going to be more difficult than I thought: Most corporate customers are reluctant to take on constractors part-time.
My current client can't afford me full time and I can't run away from a contract, yet I need to earn more. I don't know what to do.
@Igeljaeger They only seem to do part-time for blue collar jobs.
It irritates me that I can't juggle contracting work. As an independent contractor, I'm forced to work full time for single clients in succession, because that's what the clients always want. It's pretty much like being a temporary hire repeatedly. I had hoped for a more dynamic workflow where I'm carrying out tasks for half a dozen customers in any given week, out of a pool of several dozen regular customers who rely on me for little things here and there.
@thor Pros and cons, more customers == less time available per task
@thor normal part time job in the city maybe
