Many Nordic people love what I find to be cold, bland and rather soulless music. It has an emotional distance to it that reflects the emotionally restrained demeanor of Nordic people. We tend to avoid displays of emotion and dress in faded colours to avoid making a scene and drawing attention to ourselves. Even our jazz music is like that. We're extremely white, in other words. I'm reading a Norwegian review praising Kacey Musgraves' new album. It's precisely the sort of music I'm talking about.
