Reminded yet again that people tend to think a technology is simple because they currently have libraries in their preferred language that they like using, rather than because the underlying technology is actually simple to use or well thought out

The old debate about the complexity of interface vs complexity of implementation?
@amiloradovsky @cwebber There's pretty much just those two choices if you want to do anything that doesn't fit a standard mold. The ugly complexity has to hide somewhere.

One should try to reduce the complexity of the both, but that may be difficult.
Another possibility is to trade one for the other, and call it a progress…
