There are many good reasons for encouraging immigration—an aging population isn't one of them. Our population is aging because the Baby Boomers are getting old and birth rates have declined. The current influx of immigrants is an artificially induced immigrant baby boom. At some point, immigration and immigration birth rates will decline, and we'll have an even bigger problem than aging Baby Boomers on our hands. Inflating populations with immigration is not a sustainable growth strategy.
