Ready Player One is like the Tron and WarGames of our decade. I could of course include Tron: Legacy in this list, but it's a spin-off of Tron itself, and doesn't really fit our modern image of cyberspace. Ready Player One reflects our contemporary image of video games and virtual reality, much like Tron did in its day, and it reflects our contemporary notions of how cyberspace can affect meatspace in profound ways, much like WarGames did in its day.
