I was just asked to name my race or ethnicity in a survey. I had to think about it.

I'm of Finnish, Sami and Norwegian stock. Although all are pale-skinned, only Norwegians have what I'd describe as a stereotypically white or North European appearance.

I landed on "Nordic" as my ethnicity. I speak only Norwegian, but there's a bit of that Baltic heritage in me that I can't ignore. I see more of myself in Estonians, Finns and the Sami than I do in people from Oslo.
