The Norway emergency number for fire, 110, was overrun with calls from customers of the cable company GET today. An error message on a set top box advised customers to call customer service. It was followed by an error code, 1100, which customers mistook for a phone number. Their analog phone lines would patch them through after the 3rd digit, connecting them to 110, causing the flood of calls. The fire department has reached out on Twitter to get people to stop calling the number.
