I once walked out of a movie that my girlfriend's uncle had paid the tickets for. I thought it was a terrible movie, and snuck out during a toilet break.
The movie was G.I. Joe.
My girlfriend was very upset about this and an argument erupted in the parking lot.
Who was right?
@thor I mean that is kinda rude, but understandable
@NotTheRealKevin It probably did not help that, because she began yelling at me in front of said uncle the moment she came out of the cinemaplex, I was caught off guard, and told the blunt truth instead of making up a white lie.
@NotTheRealKevin Well, it was her uncle's work (but that doesn't exactly improve the matter). But there's the thing: It's actually the first time I had ever walked out of a movie. Hell, I didn't even know what proper etiquette for such a situation was, because I had never encountered it before.
@thor I think the fact that it was GI Joe makes it okay. That was an atrocious movie. 🤣
@thor I think what is rude was letting someone buy you a ticket and then not actually giving it a whole chance. If you had bought the ticket I would't think there was a problem. Its like saying "I don't care about the work you put into earning the money so we can share an experience." and no lying is way worse, it is better than you just told her the truth.
