The most unfair thing I've ever experienced? That one time when I withdrew money from a bank and I discovered that one of the bills was fake. I tried to pay for something with it and the store told me the bill was fake. The bank wouldn't own up to it because the clerk couldn't know if I had swapped a real bill for a fake one. My word counted for nothing and they suffered zero consequences. I think I'm entitled to as much trust and power as a bank. That makes me a bit of an anarchist, I guess.
@EuphoriaLavender Naw, a person who thinks he should have as much or little power as the government or a bank is an anarchist. I believe I should have that power.
I agree that you should have the power to tell the bank they gave you a bad bill and have it exchanged, though I know from experience that's not how it works.
I once got a torn bill out of an ATM and went into the bank to exchange it and they refused. They should really be held accountable for what they put into those machines.
@thor How large was the bill?
@Combaticus It was a Norwegian Kroner bill. Somewhere between €20 and €50 in equivalent value. Probably more today, since this was many years ago.
@thor That's a bummer!
On the other hand, it only cost $70 to turn you into an Anarchist. Not sure what that means, but clearly there's a lesson in there somewhere.
@thor BTW, did you decide against getting involved in the noagendasocial?
@Combaticus I didn't so much "decide" much of anything, lol...
@thor I was in the bank last week observing someone having this discussion with a teller. This was her second day because the day before the manager insisted the bill was real.
@thor
A person who considers to be treated fairly is an anarchist these days? That's pretty sad!
